OverviewThis Senior Security Consultant will be a trusted member of a growing team responsible for supporting our government and commercial sector clients in assessing, recommending, and implementing security approaches, especially those governed by regulatory authorities. This position will require a well-rounded physical and operational security background and will include some level of business development and client/project management. The ability to work as part of a coordinated team is critical. This is a senior-level, on-call position.
Responsibilities
- Conduct security assessments and develop comprehensive security plans, policies, and procedures, often in collaboration with other team members and clients
- Work with the various law enforcement and regulatory agencies as required
- Synthesize and analyze human-induced threat and natural hazard data
- Review reports, technical memos, and other deliverables
- Develop presentations and support delivery at client locations
- Interact with a diverse set of clients including government agency personnel, public officials, business, and nonprofit staff
- Travel throughout the U.S. (travel estimated at 5-15% of the year)
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in security or emergency management, systems engineering, international relations, homeland security or other applicable field
- 20 or more years of related/relevant experience
- Self-motivated
- Excellent technical writing skills
- Familiarity with electronic security system platforms/technologies (video, access controls, etc.)
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a larger team to support business objectives
- Work closely with government emergency management, law enforcement and security agencies
- Ability to travel periodically to meet client and project needs
- Ability to work in commercial and industrial settings and follow strict safety protocols
- Fluent written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to pass multiple detailed background checks (including criminal history) and drug screening
- US Citizen, with current driver’s license and ability to travel by air, bus, train, etc.
- Proficiency with standard MS Office tools, laptop computers, and/or related tools
- The ability to occasionally walk and/or stand for extended periods of time, often in outdoor environments
- Basic business acumen and the ability to understand and support client relationships
