Product Compliance Associate – AnnuitiesSkills & Experience:
  • Seven or more years of experience in the annuity or life insurance industry, with at least three years in legal, compliance, or product development
  • Strong knowledge of insurance products, sales practices, and regulatory requirements, with experience in annuities, 401K annuities, pension risk transfer, or funding agreements preferred
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex regulatory and product requirements
  • Familiarity with insurance administration processes and systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Professional, and other relevant software
  • Experience with SERFF and state insurance filings
Job Summary / Introduction:We are seeking a Product Compliance Associate – Annuities to support new product development and regulatory compliance initiatives for a growing insurance business. This role involves ensuring product contracts comply with applicable laws and regulations, gaining state approvals for annuity and related insurance products, and supporting enterprise-wide product implementation.Detailed Job Description:
  • Draft contract provisions for new retail annuity products by gathering business requirements from product, actuarial, legal, compliance, operations, and sales teams
  • Develop project timelines and coordinate state product submissions, including setting expectations for approval timelines
  • Analyze state insurance laws and regulatory standards to ensure compliance of new product initiatives
  • Correspond and negotiate with state regulators on product submission objections and prepare responses
  • Prepare and submit new products in SERFF, and identify opportunities to streamline the submission process
  • Review and gain approval for consumer advertising and branding initiatives, ensuring alignment with contract requirements
  • Maintain records of regulated forms and coordinate proper usage across business areas
  • Support new product implementation with final disclosure and contract language requirements
  • Assist internal operations and third-party administrators to ensure in-force products comply with policy and contract language
  • Maintain professional contacts with state insurance departments and industry regulatory bodies
