Overview:TABITHA’S PURPOSE: We empower people to live joyfully, age gratefully. Responsibilities: * Follows through on physician’s orders in accordance with Tabitha’s policies and procedures. If appropriate, receives and records physician’s orders.
  • Prepares, administers, and/or supervises administration of medication, treatments and other nursing services as ordered by the physician and according to facility policies/procedures. Observes Senior/client , watching for any sign of adverse reaction to medications.
  • Assesses seniors/clients assigned to him/her in regard to physical, mental and psychosocial status, reporting condition changes in a timely manner to immediate supervisor and provides follow-up with family and physician as directed. Takes and accurately records vital signs.
  • Diligently observes Senior/client skin per Tabitha policies, proactively taking steps to avoid pressure ulcers.
  • Completes procedures and documents the appropriate information on the Senior’s/client’s medical record in a timely manner according to Tabitha’s policies and procedures. With particular attention to accuracy and timeliness, follows department protocol for submission of completed documentation.
  • Provides direction and monitors Med Aides who are delivering medications to Seniors/clients. Follows through on the comprehensive care plan as developed for each individual Senior/client.
  • Provides supervision and education to Seniors/clients for the self-administration of medications. When applicable, assists in teaching the Senior/client and/or caregiver the necessary skills to allow the Senior/client to return to his/her home.
  • Assists in writing and implementing a comprehensive nursing plan of care. Updates the plan based on changes in the Senior/client physical and/or emotional state.

Vision and hearing within normal limits (with or without correction). Must have unrestricted lift/push/pull ability of 50 - pounds, demonstrating strength and agility at Tabitha’s discretion.AGE REQUIREMENT: At least age 18.EDUCATION: Successful completion of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse course of study. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.EXPERIENCE: 6 months experience as an RN or LPN, preferred.CREDENTIALS: RN or LPN License in good standing as recorded on the Nebraska State Registry or other Nurse Compact state required.
