This position is responsible for performing housekeeping and laundry functions throughout the community.PRINCIPLE DUTIES:Essential Job Duties:1. Supervises the performance of all housekeepers through personal inspections of apartments and Health Center rooms, as assigned.2. Assists in the recruitment of staff, training, evaluating and disciplining all housekeepers.3. Keeps required records, reports and studies.4. Coordinates annual apartment cleanings with the Environmental Services Director.5. Coordinates department functions with those of other departments.6. Conducts inventories of all housekeeping supplies, and places monthly orders for all housekeeping supplies.7. Coordinates the scheduling of all apartment cleaning and special cleaning projects.Other Duties:1. Performs the duties of a Housekeeper as necessary.2. Participates in the research, preparation and writing of the department budget.3. Assists in operating the Department within budget guidelines.4. Implements and monitors departmental compliance with all infection control policies and procedures.5. Orders necessary supplies, chemicals and equipment.6. Tests and evaluates new products to improve efficiency.7. Fills in as a Housekeeper in the event of staffing shortages.8. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Facilities Director.The Community fully embraces a culture of hospitality. Special courses in housekeeping or institutional management are desirable.2. Good oral and written communications skills are essential.3. Prior housekeeping supervisory experience in a retirement community, hotel or health care setting required.4.
