So, we're looking for exceptionally talented and results-oriented individuals to join us and deliver on our promises to our customers, dealers, employees, and shareholders.International of Alabama is seeking a Senior Lead Controls Engineer to interface with fellow engineers, maintenance and production staff to support production on our T14 Transmission Assembly Line. Responsibilities include day-to-day production support, process improvements, design and implementation of controls systems, network, and power distribution for current assembly lines.The Huntsville facility runs a 4x10 production schedule (Mon-Thurs, 6:30AM - 5:00PM).This role will support production and may need to cover production recovery times including Fridays and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Establishes programs and solutions for increasing uptime and for equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process.
  • Provide cross functional troubleshooting support to production lines.
  • Evaluates, selects, and orders equipment that is most appropriate and cost effective for the manufacture of company products.
  • Oversees the development, installation, modification, upgrade, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
  • Maintains current records on equipment manufacturers' technical notices, upgrades and safety issues.
  • Studies equipment performance and reliability.
  • Provides technical support to the manufacturing equipment repair and process engineering organizations.
  • May instruct, coach, or provide informal guidance to other professionals or colleagues with less experience
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 8 years of product manufacturing experience
  • At least 1 year of lead experience
OR
  • Master’s degree
  • At least 6 years of product manufacturing experience
  • At least 1 year of lead experience
OR
  • At least 10 years of product manufacturing experience
  • At least 1 year of lead experience

Desired Skills
  • Experience with the following – Fanuc Robotics, Siemens PLC’s
  • Experience with the following vision systems– Fanuc IRVision, Keyence, and Cognex
  • Experience with setting up and modifying SQL databases
  • Experience with Ignition SCADA system
  • Prior experience with MES (manufacturing execution systems) controls
  • Experience with AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles)
  • Experience designing and installing medium and low voltage power distribution systems
  • Willing to travel internationally
