Contract Type: W2 contract assignmentPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician to join a busy acute care setting. This role is responsible for decontaminating, sterilizing, assembling, and distributing surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring compliance with infection control and safety standards. The position plays a vital role in supporting surgical teams and patient safety in a Level I Trauma, Magnet-recognized hospital environment.Assignment DetailsLocation: Springfield, IL - Acute Care HospitalShift: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM (5x8-hour shifts)Average Daily Census: 50–55 casesOn Call: Not requiredFloat: May be required within scope to meet unit needsScrubs: Any solid color scrubsCharting System: CernerParking: Free with permit (completed during orientation)Required Education & ExperienceMinimum 5 years of Sterile Processing Tech experience – requiredFirst-time travelers – not accepted (Must have previous contract/travel experience)Licenses & CertificationsIAHCSMM / HSPA Certification – preferredAdditional InformationGuaranteed Hours: Client may call off up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay; excess cancellations will be paid.Block Scheduling: May be accommodated (must discuss with manager)RTO Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days off for the assignmentKey ResponsibilitiesDecontaminate, clean, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and quality checks.Follow infection control, aseptic, and safety standards at all times.Collaborate with surgical staff to ensure instruments are available and in optimal condition.Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions promptly.Apply Today!Corrin Misak, Staffing Manager
