- Contribute to electronics projects through the design of both quick-turn and product-level circuit boards using Altium Designer.
- Develop bare-metal firmware in C for PIC microcontrollers (or similar) and/or VHDL for FPGAs or CPLDs.
- Perform end-to-end development from requirements analysis at the systems level, to concept, design, test, and verification.
- Develop plans for testing hardware and for fielding of prototypes to advance the potential of transitioning prototypes to production.
- Collaborate and communicate with other members of the engineering team to ensure cohesive integration of all sub-systems.
- Ensure the project's compliance with all applicable customer requirements and applicable industry standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- B.S. or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 2-5+ years of analog/digital circuit design with embedded software/firmware development experience.
- Technical understanding and proficiency in C programming for microcontrollers and/or VHDL/Verilog for firmware.
- Passion for electronics and hardware design with creative and critical thinking.
- Strong E-CAD skill, preferably with Altium.
- Experience in systems level understanding and ability to develop efficient electronics architectures for new products.
- Ability to deliver on multiple project timelines in a fast-paced, small team environment.
- Excellent computer literacy and working knowledge of MS Office.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) including presenting design progress during major project milestones (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR).
- Technical leadership skillset or desire with potential to grow into technical supervisor.
- Experience with MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461 testing.
- Experience in leading multiple projects simultaneously while meeting milestone deliverables.
- PIC based experience. ARM based experience is a plus.
- Machine shop/electromechanical skills for quick prototype testing and verification.
- Capable of producing engineering drawings and documentation with an understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
- Strong background in physics and deep electronics fundamentals.
