Position Overview
As a Labor & Employment Attorney, you will be an integral part of the firm's Labor & Employment Division. You will represent clients in a broad range of employment matters, including counseling employers, handling litigation, and advising on compliance with labor laws. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a highly regarded team and build a long-term career with a leading firm. Key Responsibilities
- Represent employers in state and federal court litigation, including wage and hour claims, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation cases.
- Conduct workplace investigations and prepare detailed findings and recommendations.
- Provide strategic counsel on employment policies, employee discipline, terminations, and compliance with California and federal employment laws.
- Draft and review employment-related documents, such as handbooks, policies, contracts, and severance agreements.
- Manage administrative proceedings before agencies such as the EEOC, DFEH, and NLRB.
- Advise clients on labor relations matters, including union negotiations and collective bargaining agreements.
- Stay abreast of legal developments in employment law and provide thought leadership to clients and internal teams.
- Bar Admission: Must be an active member in good standing with the California State Bar.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of labor and employment experience at an AMLAW 100 Firm.
- Skills:
- Proven litigation experience, including taking and defending depositions, drafting dispositive motions, and representing clients in court.
- Strong advisory and counseling capabilities with corporate clients.
- Excellent legal research and writing skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Education: J.D. from a top tier law school.
