- Perform complete setup and operation of industrial machines, including CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, Vertical Machining Centers, and surface grinders.
- Operate multiple machines (1-4) simultaneously to maximize production efficiency.
- Adjust and calibrate machines to ensure compliance with tight tolerances and specifications.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges, to verify dimensions and quality.
- Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Identify and address machining defects and troubleshoot problems as needed.
- Train and mentor other operators and machinists to improve overall team capabilities.
- Provide guidance on best practices for machine setup, operation, and maintenance.
- Assist in process improvement initiatives to optimize workflow and efficiency.
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance on machinery and tools.
- Identify machine malfunctions and collaborate with maintenance teams to resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain detailed records of machine setups, production runs, and inspection results.
- Report production metrics, quality issues, and improvement recommendations to supervisors or engineering teams.
- Minimum of 5 experience as a machinist, with expertise in CNC programming, setup, and operation.
- Proven experience with machining ceramic parts is highly desirable.
- Advanced understanding of CNC programming, G-code, and M-code.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and blueprints/schematics.
- Familiarity with machining ceramics or other advanced materials is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills for mentoring and training team members.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical certification or degree in machining, manufacturing, or related field preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs. and stand for extended periods.
