About the RoleThe Controls Engineer/Programmer HVAC Systems is responsible for designing, programming, and integrating building automation and HVAC control systems to ensure energy efficiency, system reliability, and operational performance. This position requires deep technical expertise in HVAC principles, control logic, and system optimization. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with platforms such as Niagara Framework, BACnet, and Modbus, and a proven ability to work across both design and commissioning phases of building automation projects.ResponsibilitiesDesign and program HVAC control systems for commercial and industrial applicationsDevelop and maintain detailed documentation including control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and system submittalsProgram and configure Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) and Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) for building automation systemsIntegrate HVAC control systems with third-party platforms including Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Trane, Siemens, and othersConduct system commissioning, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure peak performanceCollaborate with mechanical engineers and project teams to align control solutions with HVAC design specificationsAnalyze system performance and implement control strategies to enhance energy efficiencyUtilize IoT-enabled technologies to support predictive maintenance and remote system monitoringWork closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure timely project deliveryProvide technical support to sales and pre-sales teams for HVAC control system solutionsQualificationsMinimum 5 years of experience in HVAC control systems engineering or programmingStrong knowledge of HVAC system design, energy management, and mechanical systemsProficiency in Niagara Framework, BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, or other HVAC programming languagesExperience with third-party HVAC platforms including Trane, Honeywell, Siemens, or Johnson ControlsFamiliarity with networking protocols and system integration over TCP/IP and EthernetProficient in control system design tools such as AutoCAD or RevitExcellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and interface effectively with clients and cross-functional teamsDesired QualificationsNiagara N4 Certification or equivalent technical certificationExperience with cloud-based building management systems and IoT technologiesKnowledge of cybersecurity best practices for building automation and control systemsBackground in predictive maintenance using analytics platformsExperience working in commercial, healthcare, or institutional building environmentsJob Type: Full-time
