Maybe you have experience caring for an aging family member, or maybe you've just always had a heart for helping others. We provide all of the CAREGiver℠ training you will need. Here's what you DO need to become a Home Instead CAREGiver℠:
  • A strong passion to work with seniors
  • A valid Indiana driver's license and a reliable vehicle suitable to transport seniors
  • Availability to work every-other weekend OR every Saturday OR every Sunday
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Patience, compassion and a positive attitude
  • You must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • You will need to complete and pass a drug test, criminal background check and a driving record check
The most important and rewarding responsibility you'll have as a Home Instead CAREGiver℠ is to develop meaningful relationships with your clients. You"ll also provide a variety of services, such as:
  • Alzheimer's/Dementia care (depending on your level of training)
  • Assistance with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) including but not limited to: bathing, grooming, incontinence care, mobility, toileting and transfers
  • Companionship
  • Light housekeeping tasks
  • Meal preparation
  • Medication reminders
  • Safety supervision
  • Transportation to activities, appointments and errands
