We are seeking a Facility Maintenance Manager with strong industrial experience to oversee all maintenance operations at a pilot-scale metals processing facility in the New Hampshire / Massachusetts border region. This role involves working closely with a specialized team to support pilot projects, drive process improvements, and integrate new technologies.The Facility Maintenance Manager will be responsible for:
  • Lead day-to-day maintenance for ferrous and non-ferrous melting, holding, and casting furnace systems, ensuring uptime and safe operation.
  • Develop and manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Supervise maintenance crews and coordinate external contractors as needed.
  • Support pilot trials and experimental systems, including installation, commissioning, and ensuring safety/compliance.
  • Monitor and improve equipment reliability KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, downtime, energy use) and oversee upgrades or retrofits.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and environmental regulations while leading safety initiatives and audits.
  • Mentor and develop a skilled maintenance team, fostering a proactive, collaborative, and accountable culture.

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or equivalent technical experience (trade school or apprenticeship plus supervisory experience also considered).
  • 5-10 years of industrial maintenance experience in metals, foundry, or heavy manufacturing environments.
  • 2+ years in a maintenance leadership or supervisory role.
  • Experience supporting engineering or R&D teams with implementation and testing of new technologies.
  • Knowledge of ferrous or non-ferrous furnace systems (aluminum, copper, nickel, steel) and related operations.
  • Proficiency with CMMS software (SAP, Maximo, or similar) and understanding of industrial automation, sensors, and control systems.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 86, OSHA, and New England safety/environmental regulations.
