The Montgomery County School Board, Virginia, is now accepting applications for a Reading/Mathematics Instructional Coach, 10.5 month (210 day) position that is available at Eastern Montgomery Elementary School for the 2025-2026 school year.Primary Responsibilities:The Instructional Coach for Reading/Mathematics works with administrators, teachers, and other school staff to develop, refine, and demonstrate evidenced-based lessons correlated to the SOLs to support the regular classroom teachers’ efforts. The Instructional Coach also works to provide coaching support centered on the SOLs in the areas of English/Language Arts and Math.QUALIFICATIONS
Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teacher’s License with appropriate endorsement of Elementary PreK-6 or Reading Specialist
Have experience as an effective teacher
Have experience in curriculum development and developing lesson plans
Have experience effectively co-teaching and/or collaborating with peers
Have experience and expertise in using technology in education to provide instruction
Experience or have working familiarity with Google Drive for instruction, collaboration and course work
Experience in fostering an inclusive learning environment
Have effective written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with parents and families
Must be dependable and punctual
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience as a Reading/Math Specialist or Coach at the elementary level
Previous experience as an elementary teacher
Previous experience modeling and implementing effective instructional strategies
Previous experience with using the interpretation of classroom data to inform instruction
Previous experience developing and providing professional development
