Job Description:Jackson Ridge Healthcare Center, a Skilled Nursing facility in Maquoketa, Iowa, is looking for a part-time daytime Cook to prepare delicious meals for our residents. Must be able to follow instructions on cooking and delivering well prepared meals.   • Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
  • Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
  • Cook food in various kitchen appliances.
  • Check food while cooking to stir or turn.
  • Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
  • Check the quality of ingredients.
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be able to follow instructions for cooking and deliver well prepared meals.
  • Must be able to follow dietary guidelines and restrictions for residents.
  • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to work in a team and alone.
  • Must be able to multitask and have great communication skills.
  • Previous work as a cook in a clinical setting preferred but not required.
Education:
  • High School Diploma/GED
Experience:
  • Entry Level (0-2 years)
