As a team we collaborate to solve problems, contribute ideas and challenge each other to ensure growth and ultimately success for the business and our employees.Job Description and ResponsibilitiesThis Entry Level Electrical Maintenance Supervisor position is responsible for leading and executing the electrical maintenance and reliability strategy across multiple production areas. Electrical Maintenance Supervisor provides technical leadership and supervises cross-functional electrical teams focused on asset reliability, automation, controls, and continuous improvement of critical electrical infrastructure. The role will support operational excellence, drive safety culture, and enables plant-wide performance through expert oversight of high/medium/low-voltage systems, process automation, and compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
  • Supervisor and support a team of electricians and maintenance technicians under guidance of a senior maintenance supervisor or manager.
  • Collaborate with senior supervisor/manager in the strategic planning, execution, and continuous improvement of all electrical maintenance, reliability, and automation functions in support of operational uptime, assets longevity, and capital investment planning.
  • Support and assist departmental electrical safety programs, arc flash compliance, and testing protocols; ensure adherence to OSHA, NEC, and company standards.
  • Assist senior leadership and cross-functional partners in Engineering, Operations, IT/OT, and Procurement to manage and execute CAPEX projects including substation upgrades, power distribution modernization, and SCADA/PLC migration.
  • Analyze asset performance using CMMS and IBA PDA tools; lead root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and implement data-driven corrective actions that reduce downtime and improve reliability KPIs.
  • Partner with supply chain and vendors to ensure critical spare parts availability, optimize lifecycle costing, and improve response time through vendor-managed inventory programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or industrial technology; 3+ years of electrical maintenance experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing or steel production environment.
  • Or Journeyman credential + 5 years of experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems
  • Advanced knowledge of high/medium/low-voltage power distribution systems, motor control centers, VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networking.
  • Advanced understanding of electrical design principles, control systems integration, and predictive maintenance technologies (infrared thermography, power quality analysis, vibration).
  • Ability to assist and lead complex shutdowns, manage multi-million-dollar maintenance budgets, and prioritize capital projects aligned with organizational goals
  • Proficient in Oracal eAM(CMMS) PM, IBA PDA, Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD Electrical, and project management software
  • Strong technical experience with high voltage systems, motor control, process automation
  • Proficient in blueprint reading and troubleshooting of mechanical operations of equipment
  • Experience supervising in a union environment preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must be available to be on call and assist personnel in times of emergency and business needs
  • Ability to work in both inside and outside environmental conditions, and be exposed to physical hazards, elevated noise levels, vibrations, and extreme cold and heat.
  • Must have a valid driver's license
