To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
- Operates the vehicle in compliance with Live Oak Environmental Safety Rules, OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Act), DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, and all applicable local, state, and federal laws.
- Conducts pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment and records findings on the standard Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR).
- Immediately report any unsafe situations or service-related issues to the Route Manager or Dispatch.
- Attends and participates in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings required by Live Oak Environmental.
- Works closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
- Notifies the Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
- Notifies the Route Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions, including blocked containers, closed lots, streets, alleyways, or potential safety hazards.
- Communicates customer requests to Route Manager or Dispatch.
- Identifies and reports all containers in need of repair or replacement.
- Completes and submits customer tickets as required.
- Follows route assignments as directed and completes end-of-day documentation and the check-out process.
- Performs all duties as scheduled by the Route Manager or Dispatch and assists other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.
Education and Experience
- Education: Not required.
- Experience: Two (2) years of previous experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL.
- Hold a current Class A or B Commercial Driver's License with an air brake endorsement.
- Must be 21 or older.
- ASL experience.
- Acceptable driving record required.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Successfully completed pre-employment DOT drug screen and DOT physical.
