- Experience as a medical assistant.
- Must maintain continuing education credits as required by the state employed
- Ability to administer medications.
- Must possess a current valid driver’s license in good standing in state of employment and be insured by a designated carrier. This role is required to drive for company purposes.
- Localized travel up to 5% may be required.
- Graduation of a post-secondary medical assisting education program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Current certification from the Certifying Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or registration from the American Medical Technologists (AMT), or the National Center for Competency Training (NCCT), or any recognized certifying body approved by the Board.
- CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant).
- Two (2) years’ experience or knowledge in the field of behavioral health recommended.
- Experience performing blood draws
- CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) Certification
- Works as part of the intake team to ensure patients are seen promptly.
- Observe urine samples for urine drug screens, test onsite and package for laboratory for confirmation testing.
- Obtain vital signs and report findings to nurse when needed.
- Obtain blood samples for standard blood testing onsite and package for the laboratory
- Communicate all relevant information to the leadership team regarding patients and the facility.
- Make appointments for patients to see physicians, counselors, and case managers, and provide lab work and referrals for additional follow-up care.
- May be responsible for cash collection and daily balancing.
- May be responsible for managing accounts receivable/accounts payable/ deposits.
- Maintain security by following procedures, monitoring logbook, checking in visitors, etc.
- May be responsible for coordinating appointments for patients.
- May be responsible for running the PDMP for all patients as well as recording patient information at intake in the Central Registry for that State
- Maintain and keep updated all medical records and documentation pertaining to the patients in the EHR as well as in any lab required software programs
- May be responsible for dropping off lab work at a UPS drop off location if the driver does not come in to pick up that day
