Job Title: Power Electronics Engineer Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Power Electronics Engineer to address and resolve issues within our electronic products and PCB boards. You will play a crucial role in analyzing and troubleshooting production, design, and assembly challenges to enhance the quality of our products.Responsibilities
  • Investigate and resolve fallouts in electronic PCBs by identifying defects in manufacturing, design, or assembly.
  • Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for equipment containing electronics and software.
  • Perform PCB board bring-up and create functional test procedures for circuit functional blocks.
  • Conduct electronics hardware testing to ensure requirements are met and generate test reports (DVTR).
  • Perform SPICE analysis of circuits using Altium/OrCAD PSPICE tools.
  • Analyze and design magnetics for EMI filters, boost/buck inductors, and other input/output filters.
  • Provide inputs to PCB layout design.
  • Independently find or create solutions to problems requiring research, resourcefulness, and creativity.
  • Utilize sound technical problem-solving skills to own or support ongoing and new products.
  • Ensure designs meet airworthiness standards, customer requirements, and internal standards.
  • Present technical findings and trade studies.
  • Interface with existing suppliers, OEM customers, and potentially new suppliers.
Essential Skills
  • Experience designing power electronics at the board/PCB level and conducting board bring-up.
  • Hands-on experience with Root Cause Investigation and/or Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA).
  • Experience in testing at the board/PCB assembly level and DO-160 testing.
  • Proficiency in using Altium for PCB design.
  • Experience with circuit simulation tools such as PSPICE.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Exposure to DO-160 testing.
  • Understanding of instrumentation issues and concerns.
  • Experience with component selection and obsolescence management.
  • Ability to perform worst-case load analysis (DC Load Analysis) on circuit designs.
  • Capability to perform component derating and thermal analysis.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink modeling to generate control algorithms.
  • Experience in creating hardware design documents and hardware requirements specifications.
Work EnvironmentThe role involves working in a dynamic environment focused on production and supply chain issues, utilizing tools such as Altium, OrCAD PSPICE, and MATLAB/Simulink. Collaboration with various departments such as engineering, industrialization, and operations is essential. The position requires the ability to interface with suppliers and OEM customers, and you will be expected to lead or support improvement projects.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Carson, California.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $65.00 - $70.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
