Broad availability of these unique research materials promotes the advancement of research in a wide variety of disciplines, including cancer, heart disease, and neurodegenerative disorders, while increasing collaboration within the scientific community. from one of our founders, Melina Fan.In joining our team as an “Addgenie”, you will work with multidisciplinary internal teams to help fulfill this mission, including scientists, software engineers and product developers, renowned customer support teams, marketing gurus, and business development professionals. Together, Addgenies create and enhance opportunities for research scientists to deposit their materials, find products and resources easily on our website, and receive unparalleled support in receiving and expertly using our materials in their own experiments.To Succeed in this Role, You Will:
  • Assist Lab Technicians with routine work related to standard or non-standard plasmid intake tasks, viral or antibody aliquoting/storage, making specialized reagents.
  • Perform manual transformation under guidance of Plasmid Lab Tech
  • Prepare liquid and solid media, antibiotics, and other common reagents
  • Organize and maintain glassware including washing and autoclave activities
  • Clean/maintain work area and lab equipment and restock supplies as needed
  • Create stabs for order fulfillment
  • Utilize custom built tracking software to assist with order fulfillment
Skills and Competencies
  • Associates degree/Certificate in Biological Sciences with 0-2 years experience
  • Certificate in Biotechnology or related field considered
  • Basic knowledge of aseptic techniques required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; both verbal and written are essential
  • Self-motivated, organized, able to work independently
