POSITION OVERVIEWThe Festival Editor, Video Content is charged with editing marketing video assignments from the Creative Content Editor related to the 2026 Sundance Film Festival.Working closely under the direction of the Content Producer, the Festival Editor, Video Content supports Sundance Institute's commitment to creating content that highlights the needed work of independent filmmakers, and the resources that Sundance provides these artists.This temporary position works full time (40 hours per week) from Monday, October 27, 2025 through Friday, February 20, 2026 and must be based within a commutable distance to our Park City, UT office. While much of the day-to-day work may be performed remotely leading up to the Festival, this position will need to work onsite at key points throughout the duration of employment. Extended hours, including evenings and weekends will be required at key points to meet deadlines and respond to on-call needs as assigned.Top priorities include but are not limited to…Editing assignments using Adobe Premiere and companion applications including Frame.io, After Effects, while maintaining disciplined project, sequence, and file management skills.Seamlessly and creatively integrating motion graphics with video footage.Collaborating with stakeholders, creative teams, social teams and Festival personnel on all projects to generate high-quality marketing materials.Working with the Creative Content team to deliver initial cuts ahead of due dates, in order to allow adequate time for revisions prior to deadlines.Being the Lead Editor on a team of editors and assistant editors, working closely with Post-Production Supervisor to manage workflow across the entire team.Collecting and implementing feedback on assigned content.Preparing assets for delivery with all requested accessibility measures and basic technical finishing.Creating folder systems for both editing workflows as well as for an archival back-up on server.You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:3 years of related experience in video editing.Very comfortable editing both social driven content and longform content, including vertical and horizontal.Strong knowledge and experience with Frame.io and Camera to Cloud.A strong understanding of both commercial video structure and current aesthetic trends.High level of knowledge editing marketing materials for the digital space.Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Proficiency in Adobe Premiere and companion applications especially After EffectsAbility to work with basic motion graphics, advanced motion graphic experience a plus.Legal authorization to work in the United States.You will be successful in this role if you...Are highly collaborative and communicative within your team.Maintain a positive and proactive approach to video production.Ask questions and seek out the answers you need.Effectively prioritize and coordinate projects, keeping things organized to meet deadlines.Enjoy creating video content that spotlights independent artists and their work.In addition to an hourly pay of $24.17, this position* is eligible for benefits & perks, highlights include:Paid sick leave and Institute holidaysEmployee assistance programEmployee Wellness InitiativesSundance Film Festival passes and benefits (varies each year)*Applications open 08/28/2025 and will be accepted for at least one week
