Must possess basic knowledge of the services provided by all therapy disciplines, working knowledge of Managed Care, Medicare, and the Medicaid systems.
Must understand the outpatient (IL/AL) facility survey system. Must use effective verbal and written communication skills.
Must demonstrate effective leadership and customer relations skills.
Working knowledge of budgeting and financial reporting.
Ability to exercise mature judgment and initiative in analyzing problems and recommending solutions to provide effective rehabilitation services.
Ability to understand and react effectively to the needs of the various clinical age populations (adult, geriatric) significant to everyday practice, evidenced through academic/clinical education and training and/or experience.Director of RehabilitationJob Summary
1. Adhere to all Company and Facility policies and procedures
2. Promote customer service through the supervision of rehabilitation service delivery and coordination of activities with other departments.
3. Implement and monitor a quality improvement program for analysis and evaluation of data.
4. Monitor quality of the medical record as it relates to accuracy and reimbursement guidelines.
5. Participate in recruitment and retention of employees through interviewing, orientation, and evaluation.
6. Assist and participate with the Director in meeting requests for accommodation and/or restrictions.
7. Implement, maintain, and participate in review and development of administrative policies, administrative procedures and clinical standards of practice.
8. Maintain and analyze statistical data for rehab services as required by administration and finance departments.
9. Monitor and maintain health and safety standards to include fire, disaster and infection control policies and procedures.
10. Provide annual training and education based on the company and regulatory requirements.
11. Participate in the approval of continuing education and Paid Time Off (PTO) requests.
12. Manage performance and productivity standards to meet clinical quality indicators and the established budget.
13. Provide direct patient care based on the established patient care needs requirements of their department and facility in the area of their professional licensure.
14. Recommend and prioritize equipment and space needs to the Administrator.
15. Must be able to lift residents using biomechanical techniques frequently through the course of an eight-hour day/shift.
16. Possess sufficient visual acuity to evaluate, diagnose, and monitor patient needs, maintain accurate records, and provide and comprehend written directions.
17. Must be able to speak and write in the English language in an understandable manner with patients, residents, visitors, coworkers, and patients' families.
18. Must be able to push wheeled equipment through the therapy department and the community in a safe manner.
19. Possess fine motor skills for manual writing or use of dictation equipment for legible and accurate charting, reports, and scheduling.Experience:
