The Wealth Management (WM) Chief Data Office (CDO) sits within the WM Risk organization and strives to find the right balance between risk management and business enablement. WM CDO’s mission is to: prevent unauthorized access to or misuse of client sensitive data and assets; abide by relevant privacy laws and regulations; effectively retain, retrieve, and protect information and records; and mitigate risks caused by inaccurate, untimely, or incomplete WM data.The Data Quality Team within WM CDO prioritizes key processes with data quality dependencies, identifies the specific data elements underpinning those processes, and applies controls to ensure compliance with data quality standards.Role Description:The WM Data Quality Team is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Business Analyst to support data and technology initiatives across WM. This individual will play a pivotal role in defining, understanding, and translating complex business and/or technical requirements into clear and actionable deliverables. The ideal candidate thrives in Agile environments, is a natural communicator, and has a strong technical foundation to effectively partner with both IT system owners and business stakeholders.Key responsibilities include:
  • Agile Delivery Support and Execution: Lead certain Agile ceremonies when required (sprint refinement, backlog management, demos/design) and continuously refine the product backlog in JIRA
  • JIRA: Write detailed, descriptive user stories with clear acceptance criteria; collaborate with developers, QA testers, and Business users to ensure clarity of requirements
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between Business stakeholders, IT system owners, and other partners to understand needs; capture and translate technical concepts into Business terms, and vice versa, ensuring alignment and shared understanding
  • Analytical and Technical Support: Use Excel to perform data analysis, trend identification, and ad hoc reporting when needed; leverage SQL to pull and validate data to support analysis, requirements, or testing efforts
  • Engage regularly with the Product Owners and IT system owners to gather requirements, provide updates, and validate solutions; work with the Product Owner to ensure an efficient sprint and production release
  • Create impactful PowerPoint presentations for management/leadership when required
  • Take clear and structured meeting notes, including action items, due dates, and owners; document business and functional requirements from discussions and design working sessions
  • Provide meaningful input on discussions, policies, and control design when applicable
  • Host and lead meetings requiring demos, discussion, analysis, design, etc.
Qualifications:
  • 3-4+ years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst in a dynamic Agile environment
  • Strong experience writing detailed user stories, epics, acceptance criteria, and managing sprint delivery in JIRA
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into understandable business language and vice versa
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work across all organizational levels
  • Demonstrated comfort interacting regularly with stakeholders, senior leadership, and management
  • Ability to learn quickly and serve as a resourceful problem-solver capable of jumping into new systems or domains
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels within the organization
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and research skills
  • Ability to independently manage and execute on multiple, simultaneous workstreams and exhibit strong attention to detail
  • Expertise in office productivity software, data analysis, and collaboration tools
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry; preferably in wealth management, finance, operations, or technology
  • Experience with data quality and data governance frameworks
  • Experience with content and tools, including SharePoint, Jive, Teams
  • Exposure to data-related projects in risk or finance is a plus.
  • SQL knowledge for querying and validating datasets
  • Familiarity with visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView, Dataiku)
