Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license at the time of appointment.Some positions may require within the six-month probationary period:
- A valid California Class B Commercial Driver's license. Failure to obtain licensure will result in termination of employment.
- First Responder Maintenance and Repair Respiratory Protection Equipment Certificate as required by the manufacturer. Failure to obtain licensure will result in termination of employment.
- Care and Maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment Certificate as required by the manufacturer. Failure to obtain licensure will result in termination of employment.
- Maintenance and Repair of Rescue Equipment Certificate as required by the manufacturer. Failure to obtain licensure will result in termination of employment.
: (Medical/Dental/Vision): Kern County offers five affordable medical options. Kern Legacy Health Plans are medical and prescription health plan options administered directly by the County of Kern. Kaiser Permanente is also an option. Employees may also choose from two dental plans; Liberty Dental PPO or HMO.
