We are hiring Campus and Community Organizers for this position beginning April 15th and ending on November 15, 2024. Organizers will be based in Milwaukee, La Crosse, Green Bay, Appleton, and Eau Claire, WI. Preference will be given to organizers that can be geo-flexible as the campaign progresses.Who We Are:

We are excited to once again be working with to mobilize Wisconsin communities around protecting and advancing reproductive justice and the upcoming 2024 General Election.is the advocacy arm of Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, the state's largest and most trusted reproductive health care provider. PPAWI educates and lobbies on behalf of women’s health and works to elect candidates who support family planning and the full range of reproductive health care.General Overview:We are currently seeking Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin Campus and Community Organizers to engage and expand awareness of reproductive rights access and threats specifically within the state legislatures through online actions, voter outreach, and relationship building. As a campus and community organizer, you would work closely with the organizing team to support the development of grassroots and grasstops relationships on college campuses and local communities, and recruit and train dozens of volunteers committed to defending reproductive freedom. Over the summer, the organizers will work with volunteer leaders to launch a summer training program dedicated to relational organizing before heading into the fall. Your role as a community organizer will be to support recruitment, promotion and tracking of that work. Come August, organizers and their volunteers will leverage their relationships and mobilize their community to launch a voter identification and Get Out The Vote operation through Election Day 2024 – work which the organizer will be promoting by using voter identification systems and relational organizing tools, as well as the recruitment and training of volunteers to engage in GOTV activities.If you are passionate about reproductive rights and uplifting stories, join our fight to help expand awareness of reproductive rights access and threats in Wisconsin and impacting Wisconsinites.Responsibilities:
- Recruit and Train a Community of Volunteer Activists
- Call and text supporters and recruit them into grassroots actions
- Identify new volunteers by gathering petitions and other campaign actions
- Run grassroots skills trainings to develop effective campaigners among volunteers
- Organize a summer relational organizing training program
- Keep meticulous track of a volunteer list so that no potential volunteer falls through the cracks
- Represent the campaign through participation in community spaces and events, while engaging and uplifting coalition and partner organizations
- Generate Campaign and Electoral Actions and Organize Events
- Organize campaign activities and actions to mobilize local students and community members around PPAWI’s advocacy efforts
- Recruit for, attend, and help to plan and execute local events
- Mobilize volunteers to engage and turn out voters for the 2024 General Election
- Manage Digital Campaigns, Data Management, and Reporting Tools
- Demonstrate public support by recruiting volunteers to post on their own social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
- Use peer-to-peer texting services and relational organizing tools to communicate with community members.
- Send timely and compelling email campaigns to recruit activists to campaign activities.
- Track every interaction with detailed notes in order to report numbers daily and write weekly reports on the results of the campaign.
Must haves:
- Track record of centering equity and justice in your work.
- Passion for progressive policies with a specific passion for reproductive rights and access
- Experience with Relevant Campaign Tools and Technologies: Impactiv, Hustle, MailChimp, VAN, and social media tools (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram).
- Task management experience:
- Ability to adapt to the evolving needs of a project.
- Ability to tackle big-picture projects and break them down into smaller pieces
- Organized and efficient:
- Experience or demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects or goals at once in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Acute attention to detail:
- Ability to track interactions and tasks with detailed notes.
- Ability to plan ahead for roadblocks and bounces back quickly when problems arise.
- Effective communication skills (written and spoken) that are clear, concise and honest.
- Ability to work weekends and weekday evenings, occasional holidays.
- Experience working for nonprofits, electoral campaigns, and/or other issue campaigns, especially on reproductive rights.
- Data Management and Evaluation Experience: Experience working with various data management systems and tools, mainly Google Suite.
- Event or Project Planning & Management, Implementation or Evaluation
- Knowledge or previous experience working on this issue is a plus, but not required
