- Empower mental health and substance use clients to exercise autonomy in all aspects of their life. Assist with identifying choices and developing skills in self-advocacy.
- Collaborate with staff and provide training to ensure that the client's perspective is always included, that preferences are recognized and that choices are maximized.
- Assist clients with being able to identify personal methods of recovery from mental illness and/or substance use and to develop self-management plans.
- Promote hope and empowerment
- Assist the client and the staff in developing client centered plans. Assist clients with communicating their personal recovery goals.
- Provide information and training on recovery tools and techniques, self-management strategies.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year experience working with adults with mental illness and/or substance abuse. May substitute six months of experience with a college degree in the human services field.
- Must be receiving mental health and/or substance use services or received services in the past and have self-knowledge to manage their illness with an established recovery process.
- Ability to provide flexible services that are community based
- Must enroll and attend the Recovery Coach Certification Program.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Recovery Coach Certified a plus
- Bilingual candidates fluent in a needed language may be eligible for a 6% salary increase.
