The Director oversees the leadership of the Dartmouth Health, Cheshire Medical Center, Safety and Security Department and serves as a primary security advisor to the hospital community. Responsible for maintaining the safety and security of all employees, patients, visitors, other members of the public, and property of the organization. Establishing, implementing, and overseeing the security protocols for Dartmouth Health – Cheshire Medical Center. Asses risk to mitigate potential consequences of incidents affecting the organization. Manages interpersonal and crises situations. Displays sound customer service skills. Controls disruptive behavior situations while providing direction to staff. Researches, assists with design, implements, participates in training to accomplish this goal and periodic review. Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal security laws, as well as those regulations put forth by CMS and Joint Commission. Determines and manages the budgets for security operations. Attends meetings with organizational leaders regarding security matters (i.e., Diversion, HR Related Violations, Criminal Acts made against staff, patients, and visitors, etc.,)This position requires Bachelor’s ’s degree or equivalent experience.Minimum of 10 years’ experience in hospital or campus security, law enforcement, corrections or military police experience is required.Prior supervisory / leadership experience preferred. No criminal record, or convictions for misdemeanor or felony level offensives
