Let's make it happen!The OpportunityWe are seeking a high-performing SETSS Teacher who is passionate about supporting diverse learners and helping every child thrive academically and socially. This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative school community that values inquiry-based learning, restorative practices, and the power of creativity to drive student growth.What You’ll DoAs a SETSS Teacher, you will:Deliver specially designed and supplemental instruction to support students with disabilities in the general education setting.Collaborate with general education teachers to provide flexible, inclusive support that meets students where they are.Use a combination of push-in and pull-out models, providing both direct and indirect services tailored to student needs.Create a joyful, engaging, and inclusive classroom culture where all students feel empowered to learn.Differentiate instruction to target individual learning styles and strengthen skills in language, cognition, sensory-motor, and memory.Actively engage students in rigorous, project-based, Common Core-aligned learning experiences .Use data to inform instruction and drive academic outcomes for every learner.Participate in Child Study Team assessments and contribute to the development of IEPs and 504 plans.Foster strong, professional relationships with students and families, building a supportive community of learning.What We’re Looking ForValid NYS (or equivalent) Special Education Teaching Certification (required).Experience teaching in an urban elementary setting.Demonstrated success in raising student achievement.Strong belief that all students can achieve at high levels.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.A compassionate, student-first mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced school environment.A sense of humor, flexibility, and team spirit.Preferred Skills (a plus, not required):Bilingual (Spanish).Music performance or strong appreciation for arts integration.Training in ABA or Nonviolent Crisis Intervention.Early childhood teaching experience or certifications.Experience with Project-Based and Inquiry-Based Learning.Familiarity with Responsive Classroom, Love & Logic, or Restorative Justice models.Why Join Us?Competitive hourly rate of $60/hour .Professional growth opportunities in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.A chance to make a lasting impact on students’ academic, social, and emotional success.Be part of a supportive community where compassion, creativity, and curiosity fuel learning every day.👉 Apply today and bring your expertise, compassion, and creativity to a role where you can truly change lives.
