
English Language Learning Specialist

- Implement a focused curriculum to support students from pre-beginner level to high intermediate level students
- Instruction and classroom management both in-person and online for adult learners
- Offer one-on-one support to students to improve attendance and remove barriers to participation
- Manage own schedule; communicate efficiently with students to manage coaching sessions
- Administer standardized assessments, filling out registration forms, as well as giving feedback to the program manager, and modeling best teaching practices
- Manage student files, tests, maintain inventory of books and classroom supplies, and collect sign-in sheets
- Respond to phone and email inquiries from prospective students and volunteers
- Ensure effective and empathetic communication with other program staff
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Track and record students' participation and milestones into the WRU system
- Maintain availability to respond to emergencies
- Perform other related work as assigned
- Must be able to lift fifteen pounds at times.
- Physical Demands: Sedentary physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature.
- Stand less than 33% of the time on duty.
- Walk less than 33% of the time on duty.
- Sit between 33% and 66% of time on duty.

- Able to lift/carry up to 10 lbs.
- A bachelor's or higher-level degree from an accredited college or university
- Intermediate to proficient knowledge of ESL instruction, curriculum, and teaching techniques
- Bi-lingual (English Spanish) candidates are strongly preferred. Proficiency in Arabic, Haitian-Creole, French, Ukrainian, or other languages valued
- Ability to work with a culturally diverse population and sensitivity to the special needs of multicultural immigrant adults and families
- Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including maintaining effective work relationships
- Strong organizational skills, and ability to work across all levels of management and staff
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding all cases and client information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft TEAMS, and WorkReadyU SIS system preferred and ability to learn database/software required
- Familiarity with Cambridge Ventures curriculum strongly preferred
- Ability to work some evenings/weekends on a weekly basis
- Have reliable transportation
