- Own the packaging, design, analysis, test, and validation of secondary structure within the Terran R Avionics system. Secondary structure includes trays, brackets, dynamic isolation, thermal management, and environmental protection components.
- Collaborate with Avionics, Fluids, Dynamics, Thermal, Structures, and Vehicle Integration engineers to design robust secondary structure that meets mission requirements.
- Perform modal and structural analysis of hardware to static, dynamic, and thermal environments.
- Utilize 3D modeling and 2D drafting packages to deliver detailed designs with considerations for production and test.
- Validate designs for flight through rapid prototyping, analysis, and test campaigns.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a full cycle mechanical or structural design engineering role
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
- Experience with 3D computer aided design (CAD) software
- Experience with structural and thermal analysis, including finite element analysis methods
- Demonstrated project ownership and accountability with complex, multi-disciplinary technical projects
- Proficient with NX/Teamcenter CAD package
- Proficient with Ansys and/or FEMAP FEA packages
- Applied knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with packaging and design of Avionics and/or vibration isolated systems
