Minimum QualificationsAcceptable Experience and EducationHigh school degree; some college preferred. At least four (4) years advanced administrative experience, with two (2) years in court administration or criminal justice.Or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Certificates and Licenses RequiredMust have or obtain by date of hire a Texas driver's license applicable to job responsibilities, with a driving record acceptable to the County of El Paso.Must possess and maintain a peace officer license under Chapter 1701, Occupations Code, from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.In order to access the County's network and systems, a personal mobile smart device is required by the hire start date.Typical DutiesEssential DutiesParticipates in drug court meetings as required;Coordinates and conducts BA's, UA's and drug testing protocol and checks on clients drug testing on both male/female participants of the program;Monitors the caseloads and the household system; Provides security of the courtroom surveillance;Informs the drug court surveillance team of a participant's progress/problems in the program;Assists drug court surveillance team to ensure compliance by the participants during nontraditional hours;Assists surveillance team in developing schedules, protocols, and obtaining information on participants;Conducts home visits of participants from program;Transports drug court participants to and from court, county detention facilities, residential placements and other treatment sites;Screens/Interviews clients for eligibility of the court program; Oversees the collection and maintenance of various reports; Keeps program manuals updated;Makes appropriate referrals for assistance; Develops grants and other funds for the program; Conducts special studies, assessments, and projects;Conducts outreach and coordinates conferences and other special events;Oversees and prepares jail commitment orders and books participants into jail when needed;Receives calls from drug court participants and relates any information to the judge, drug court team, and surveillance team; makes arrangements with the jail to transport drug court participants who are in jail at the time of their required presence in drug court;Maintains courtroom security during drug court session in absence of the bailiff; Stays abreast of new trends and innovations in the field;Substitutes, if assigned, during temporary absences by performing delegated duties sufficient to maintain continuity of normal operations;Commits self to providing excellent customer service and demonstrate commitment through cooperative team and individual efforts; andCreates a high-quality work culture through participation and emphasis on training and mentoring to develop leadership, management, and technical skills in self and all employees, including safety related training and skills.Other Important Duties*May be required to work a flexible work schedule; Travels to and from court;Conducts visits and other travel with little or no notice;As members of the County of El Paso Emergency Response System, all El Paso County employees are designated as Disaster Service Workers during a proclaimed emergency and may be required to train on emergency response and/or perform certain emergency services; andPerforms such other related duties as may be assignedJob SummarySummary of PositionThe Compliance Officer assists with the operations of the Drug Court. Retirement benefits are provided by the Texas County and District Retirement Fund (TCDRS). Regular employees become a member of TCDRS upon hire. All regular employees are required to contribute 7% to the retirement fund and the County matches 250% upon eligible retirements.
