Hours:
10.75 hours/week
Monday: 9:30 am - 2:15 pm
Tuesday: 9:30 am - 11:45 am
Wednesday: 12:00 pm - 3:15 pm
Thursday: Off
Friday (one Friday/month): 9:00 am - 11:00 amAssist in the Early Childhood Program and specifically sibling care program. Applicants should demonstrate a love for working in early childhood, passion for serving early childhood students and families, and ability to communicate with parents and fellow staff members.Reports To:
Early Childhood Family Education CoordinatorJob Description: * Supervise children between the ages of 3 months to 5 years old in the sibling care room
  • Provide a safe, nurturing educational environment for children, including those with special needs.
  • Assist in planning and directing age-appropriate classroom activities in collaboration with sibling care colleagues and program coordinator
  • Use positive discipline techniques, and provide comfort and reassurance to children
  • Work with sibling care staff and parents to develop a plan for children needing more support
  • Perform routine clerical duties related to the job assignment
  • Supervision of students in/outdoors
  • Promote a positive image of Centennial Schools and the Centennial Preschool program and contribute to a positive, respectful, professional working environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma
  • Experience in the supervision of children, preferably early childhood and infants
  • Demonstrates successful skills in organization, verbal and written communication, and working with children and families of diverse backgrounds
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations
  • Must be highly qualfied:
1. Have at least two years of college credits (usually 60 credits if earned in Minnesota) through an accredited institution of higher education; or
2. Hold an associate’s degree or higher; or
3. Have a passing score on an approved, formal assessment (ParaPro or Paraeducator Assessment)
Preferred:
  • Knowledge of the school district
  • Passion for working with young children and infants
Wage:
Starting at $20 per hour - as per the current Paraprofessional master agreementBenefits:
