We are able to offer any new team member a strong medical bench of experience and support from our doctors and staff.We are looking for an amazing individual who is excited to work a Full-time schedule with a wonderful and supportive team that strives to provide quality wellness medical care to some pretty amazing pets! The schedule includes a 4-day work week and we are closed for major holidays! We are open from 8a to 7p, 7 days/week, except for VCA-observed holidays.Very few places will see to it that you are within a 10 – 15 minute car-ride to some of the most beautiful, destination beaches in the world, but when you work at VCA University Animal Hospital, that’s just what you’ll get! And not only are we minutes away from some pretty amazing views (Tantalus Lookout) and breath-taking hiking trails (Manoa Falls Trail, Diamond Head Summit Trail), but we are also located just about 3 miles away from the “world’s largest open-air shopping center”, Ala Moana Shopping Center, who also boasts to be home to over 350 shops and restaurants! And for those with families, you need look no further as the clinic is within walking distance to TWO elementary schools, a short 2.5 mile drive to BOTH a middle and a high school, and we are within walking distance to the University of Hawaii at Manoa!   • To be eligible, must have a current veterinary technician license in the state of Hawaii or eligible to transfer/obtain a license in Hawaii.
As a member of the VCA University team, you will support the Doctor teams by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Your mission will be to win the confidence of every pet parent—by delivering an outstanding client experience—so we can provide exceptional care to every patient. The skills that will be utilized include, but are not limited to:
  • Restraining and assisting in patient exams and routine procedures.
  • Taking detailed medical histories and patient vitals.
  • Filling prescriptions (as allowed by law).
  • Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
  • Providing compassionate care for our hospitalized animals.
  • Maintaining medical records.
  • Assisting our wonderful Doctor staff as needed.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe hospital environment.
