Position SummaryThis full-time Application Engineer role focuses on delivering technical support and expertise to customers across multiple industries, with proven experience supporting polymer materials, compounding, and injection molding processes . Acting as a bridge between technical and commercial teams, this position ensures tailored solutions, high customer satisfaction, and support for business growth. The role reports directly to the CEO .Main Duties & ResponsibilitiesTechnical Support & TroubleshootingAddress customer inquiries on material options, processing methods, tooling, and application needsProvide hands-on assistance to resolve processing or quality challengesOffer technical expertise during the resolution of customer complaintsProject & Application DevelopmentPartner with Account Managers to provide technical input for customer projectsParticipate in customer trials and sampling activities, ensuring accurate documentation and timely follow-upCollaborate with internal R&D and production teams to support new product or application initiativesTraining & DocumentationDeliver technical training sessions for customers, internal staff and global partnersDevelop and update technical documentation, guidelines and application resourcesMarket & Customer SupportMonitor and share insights on technical trends, customer requirements, and competitor activitySupport CRM initiatives by logging activities and identifying opportunitiesBuild and maintain strong relationships by providing reliable, solutions-oriented technical supportContribute to the acquisition of new customers through technical expertise in projects or specialized applicationsKey SkillsStrong knowledge of polymer materials, compounding, and injection molding processes .Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams to deliver results.Education & RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or related technical field (preferred).3 - 5 years of experience in application engineering, plastics processing, or technical customer support with polymer materials, compounding, and injection molding processesProficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM tools .Willingness to travel for customer visits, training, and project support .Bilingual skills in English and German or Spanish are a plus.LocationThis role is based in the Houston Area (The Woodlands) with regional travel required to support customers, trials, and training activities.CompensationCompetitive base salary commensurate with experience.Performance-based bonus opportunities.Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage , 401(k) with employer contribution , and paid vacation and sick leave .
