This position will be supporting the Propulsion Systems Division at our facility located in Magna, UT.Role Description & Responsibilities:The Project Engineer is responsible for establishment and execution of all technical aspects of development, qualification, and acceptance testing of the First Stage Solid Rocket motor. This position will manage motor static test, case burst, flex seal characterization, slight termination (LSC), igniter bottle, TBI, closure, and pressure transducer demonstration and qualification efforts.Job Duties:
  • Gaining customer approval of program test execution plan tailoring from LM and MDA
  • Establishing qualification rationale and gaining approval of historical and current testing efforts to meet requirements
  • Authoring detailed test plans and reports per SDRL requirements
  • Design authority for static test motor designs
  • Coordinate with both internal NG and external LM and USG customers
  • Supports production and test operations
  • Assemble and develop efficient cross functional teams across hardware teams to execute qualification static tests.
  • Ensure qualification static test objectives are met and coordinated with hardware teams.
  • Develop engineering execution plan to meet master schedules.
  • Coordination and implementation of design and analysis activities associated with qualification testing.
  • Development of test plans and coordination of testing with test engineers
  • Identification of risks/mitigations and tracking to closure in Risk Tracker
  • Coordination and Conducting test readiness reviews
  • Lead problem and failure investigations
  • Write technical reports
  • Presentations – internal and external
  • Ability to Travel expectation of 5% – 10%
Basic Qualifications:
  • Principal Level: Candidate must 5 years experience with a BS or 3 years with MS in engineering
  • Sr. Principal Level: Candidate must have 8 years of experience with a BS or 6 years with MS in engineering
  • Candidate must have demonstrated ability to:
  • Plan and execute complex, fast paced projects
  • Communicate technically complex topics and scenarios clearly and concisely
  • Build relationships necessary to function efficient teams
  • Be capable of actively and efficiently working multiple projects
  • Have the ability to get work done through others
  • Ability to obtain a Security Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship is required

Primary Level Salary Range: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
