
Senior Structural Discipline Engineer

- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Structural or Civil engineering from accredited college or university.
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering preferred.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required; S.E. preferred.
- 10-15 years of experience in structural engineering, including project and staff leadership.
- Strong working knowledge of applicable codes (FBC, IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, etc.).
- Proficiency with structural design tools such as RISA, RAM, ETABS, and Revit.
- Experience with and ability to maintain working relationships with clients.
- Experience as a project manager.
- Demonstrated leadership or management experience preferred.
- Excellent leadership, supervisory, and writing and verbal communication skills.
- Be comfortable consulting with architects, engineers, Owners, and General Contractors.
- Ability to work as part of a multidiscipline design team, locally and with other Coffman Offices
- Manage day-to-day contacts with internal and external clients while utilizing experience and technology to meet expectations.
- Serve as a senior technical resource on structural projects, supporting design direction and code compliance.
- Ensure consistent application of engineering principles, standards, and quality control processes.
- Oversee discipline-specific QA/QC reviews and provide design guidance on complex or high-risk projects.
- Performing research and documentation for internal and external distribution.
- Utilize project management skills for managing internal projects as well as external client needs.
- Involvement in professional organizations such as SEI, NCSEA, or ASCE.
- Developing new clients and business.
- Help identify opportunities for growth in structural services and emerging markets.
- Support or lead proposal efforts and client presentations for structural work.
- Assist in developing scopes of work, proposals, schedules, and budgets for structural services.
- Monitor team utilization, project milestones, and resource needs.
