Location: Austin, Texas (On-site)Position Overview:
The Data Scientist at Concord New Energy will focus on the analysis of power market data and providing accurate forecasts for future project developments. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing the operations of renewable projects through the application of machine learning algorithms. If you are passionate about leveraging data to drive sustainable energy solutions and possess a strong background in data science and renewable energy markets, we want to hear from you.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:1. Power Market Data Analysis:
  • Collect, clean, and preprocess large sets of power market data from various sources.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis to identify patterns, trends, and insights relevant to the renewable energy sector.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and align data analysis efforts accordingly.
  • Build data warehouse.
2. Market Forecasting:
  • Develop and implement forecasting models to predict future power market trends and project developments.
  • Utilize statistical methods, time series analysis, and machine learning techniques to enhance the accuracy of forecasts.
  • Regularly evaluate and refine forecasting models based on real-time data and market dynamics.
3. Machine Learning Optimization:
  • Design, implement, and maintain machine learning algorithms to optimize the operations of renewable energy projects.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to integrate machine learning solutions into operational processes.
  • Continuously monitor and enhance the performance of machine learning models to adapt to changing market conditions.
4. Data Visualization and Reporting:
  • Create visually compelling reports and dashboards to communicate findings and insights to stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders through visualizations and presentations.
5. Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, project managers, and business analysts, to align data science efforts with organizational goals.
  • Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences in a clear and understandable manner.
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant field such as Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or R.
  • Fluent in using AI tools such as ChatGPT.
  • Familiarity with power market data and renewable energy projects.
  • Familiarity with trading.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts into actionable insights for various stakeholders.
