- Manage Value Stream to deliver “Best in Class” distribution and material flow operations.
- Lead team to achieve Value Stream, Site specific and Corporate KPI's across all metrics of Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, Inventory and Morale.
- Partner cross functionally to manage customer delivery requirements. Develop and maintain operational rigor for efficiency and productivity throughout these processes, ensuring daily commitments are achieved.
- Develop new shareowner roles dedicated to value added operations, supporting material handling and material flow throughout all distribution operations.
- Own material management strategy, optimizing inventory storage, presentation and visual management to drive at-a-glance abnormality.
- Deliver predictable/capable processes to ensure best in class quality is built into each product.
- Ensure facilities are maintained to support safety, production and customer fulfillment needs.
- Ensure consistent communication to all shareowners related to expectations, performance and key company initiatives.
- Drive Visual Factory, Continuous Improvement and Lean Principles within Value Stream, eliminating waste.
- Drive achievement and sustainability of Lean Line Certification for Material Flow.
- Ensure transactional accuracy is maintained and delivered through optimal material and inventory management; support cycle counts with root cause, resolution, inventory trend and analyses.
- Develop optimum capacity, efficiency and profitability, in conjunction with cross functional resources, through the upgrading and modernization of facilities and equipment and improvements in material flow operations.
- Develop and execute succession plan for all levels within the Value Stream and ensure training and development of all shareowners, driving engagement and empowerment to every level within the Value Stream.
- Perform performance reviews, employee relations activities and corrective action in conjunction with Human Resources in a timely and effective manner.
- Ensure company compliance with quality, regulatory and safety directives.
- Performs duties in compliance with applicable regulations and standards such as FDA Quality System Regulation 21 CFR 820, 803, 1270 and 1271, ISO 13485, and the European Medical Device Directive.
- Recommends and implements operations policies and programs in line with the overall business plan.
- Explores and recommends changes to systems based on analysis of modern, cost effective methods.
- Forms part of the leadership team and plays a role in the setting of the overall department policies and guidelines.
- Focus on year over year cost improvements to support productivity targets.
- Creates and manages department budget and related expenses.
- Bachelor's degree plus twelve (12) years of related experience; a Master's degree plus eight (8) years related experience; or a Ph.D. plus five (5) years related experience; or equivalent work experience.
- At least 3 years of this experience in a management position including broad involvement in and demonstrated knowledge of operations, supply chain, planning, receiving, shipping, and material flow.
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic accounting and financial practices in an operations or manufacturing environment.
- Proven leadership and team-building experience including the ability to effectively drive change to drive the business forward
- Bachelors or Masters in an engineering, supply chain, or operations management discipline preferred
