We look forward to having you join this exciting opportunity.Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide therapeutic services that help patients improve their ability to perform daily activities. This role is essential in various settings, including acute care, outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, and home health environments.Duties
  • Assist Occupational Therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
  • Provide direct patient care by guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and activities.
  • Monitor patient progress and document changes in their condition or response to treatment.
  • Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, exercises, and strategies for improving daily living skills.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient care and progress in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Actively lead exercise classes, participate in community events, and work collaboratively with community personnel
  • Utilize medical terminology effectively when communicating with team members and documenting patient interactions.
Skills
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to occupational therapy practices.
  • Experience in acute care, outpatient, inpatient, clinic, or home health settings is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in assisting patients with various therapeutic exercises and activities.
  • Understanding of physiology and its application in rehabilitation processes.
  • Ability to provide compassionate patient care while maintaining professionalism.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Familiarity with medical imaging techniques as they relate to occupational therapy is a plus.
