Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Virtual Analysis Engineer specializing in Body Manufacturing Engineering. As a vital part of the Product Interface (PI) organization, you will utilize math tools and utilities to ensure product compliance with manufacturing requirements, focusing on aspects such as weldability, sealing, gun access, and part handling. You will also manually analyze product designs for manufacturability where existing tools do not suffice, and create detailed reports to review with relevant engineering teams. Additionally, you will develop Key Performance Indicator Charts and support manufacturing studies using software tools to analyze product placement within manufacturing facilities.Responsibilities
  • Utilize math tools and utilities to assess product compliance with manufacturing requirements.
  • Manually analyze product designs for manufacturability and manufacturing requirements compliance.
  • Create and post reports of identified issues and review them with PI, Stamping, and Manufacturing Engineering teams.
  • Develop Key Performance Indicator Charts at each templated Product Math synch point.
  • Support manufacturing studies by analyzing proposed product placement within facilities using software tools.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Siemens TeamCenter, TcVIS, NX, and Tecnomatix (Process Simulate/Designer).
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new software and math tools.
  • High level of analytical abilities to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to self-manage workload, set priorities, and ensure deliverables are completed on time.
  • High level of oral and written communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Body shop launch experience.
  • Experience in BIW tool design and build.
  • Familiarity with math-based processes.
  • Experience with robot simulation.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing standards, including welding, tool design, and body manufacturing requirements.
  • Knowledge of Global Vehicle Development Process (GVDP) timing elements and deliverables.
  • Experience with software/coding in C++, Visual Basic, and Python.
Work EnvironmentThe role involves working with advanced software tools such as Siemens TeamCenter, TcVIS, NX, and Tecnomatix in a collaborative and innovative engineering environment. The position requires a high degree of self-management and communication with various engineering teams to ensure compliance with manufacturing standards.
