Job Title: IT Director
Reports to: Executive DirectorAbout Us: Corvian Community School develops the whole child and seeks to address the cognitive, emotional, social and physical needs of each student. The ultimate goal is to help students develop happy, healthy lives well-equipped for the future.Position Overview: We are seeking a visionary and experienced IT Director to lead our technology department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in information technology, strategic planning, and educational technology integration, as well as excellent leadership and management skills. As the IT Director at our charter school, you will oversee all aspects of technology infrastructure, systems, and support services, ensuring the effective and efficient use of technology to support teaching, learning, and administrative functions.Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive technology plan aligned with the school's mission, goals, and budgetary constraints, in collaboration with school leadership and stakeholders.
  • Lead the planning, implementation, and maintenance of technology infrastructure, including network infrastructure, servers, wireless systems, devices, and security protocols.
  • Oversee the selection, deployment, and management of educational technology tools, platforms, and resources to support teaching and learning across all grade levels and subject areas.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the technology team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and enforce technology policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure the security, integrity, and reliability of technology systems and data, in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Manage the school's technology budget, including forecasting technology needs, allocating resources, and optimizing spending to maximize the impact on student learning and achievement.
  • Collaborate with school leadership, faculty, and staff to identify technology needs, priorities, and opportunities for innovation, and provide guidance and support in leveraging technology to enhance teaching, learning, and operations.
  • Stay current on developments in educational technology, emerging trends, and best practices in IT management through professional development, networking, and ongoing learning.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for technology-related issues, providing support and troubleshooting assistance to staff, students, and parents/guardians as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with school leadership, board members, and stakeholders regarding technology initiatives, projects, challenges, and successes.
Essential Knowledge:
  • Strong technical expertise in network infrastructure, systems administration, cybersecurity, and educational technology tools and platforms.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in educational technology, data privacy, and security compliance.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
