Duties include calculating appropriate postage for outgoing mail, assisting customers at the mailroom and passport service windows, and serving as backup for the mail courier and delivers packages throughout the College.SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collect, sort, and distribute mail and packages throughout the main campus via walking and golf cart routes
Deliver packages from the College receiving area to propriate departments.
Provide customer service at the Mailroom and Passport Services windows, including responding to inquiries and processing requests.
Process passport applications in compliance with U.S. Department of State regulations.
Maintain active annual certification as a passport acceptance agent, as required by the Florida Department of State.
Sell postage and handle cash or card transactions accurately.
Operate mailroom equipment, including postage machines and scales.
Support general mailroom operations and assist with related tasks as needed.
Use Q-Trak software via mobile device to track package deliveries.
Enter payments using Transact software during passport processing.
Follow safe work practices, including proper lifting techniques and safe operation of the golf cart.
Complete other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum one (1) year of related work experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
Valid Florida driver’s license required.
Must obtain and maintain passport acceptance agent certification through the Florida Department of State.
Knowledge of U.S. Postal Service regulations and procedures is preferred.
Experience handling cash and performing point-of-sale transactions
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to operate postal machines and standard office equipment
Experience using Q-Trak and Transact systems preferred.
Familiarity with College departments, faculty, and staff is helpful.
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work independently collaboratively.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, prioritize tasks, and stay self-motivated.
Regular work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as medium work involving lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Substantial amount of time spent outdoors.
