
Senior QA Analyst - Healthcare Data & Analytics

- Develop test strategies and templates for healthcare data validation.
- Collaborate with ETL, BI, and QA teams to design and execute test cases.
- Write SQL-based tests, including minus queries and balancing queries.
- Automate testing processes where feasible, leveraging existing tools.
- Maintain test tracking and defect management systems to ensure accuracy.
- Create repeatable test scripts for batch execution.
- Support defect resolution, retesting, and change control processes.
- Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) with business users and partner teams.
- Maintain a log of open issues and proactively resolve challenges to meet project deadlines.
- 5+ years of QA experience, with 2+ years in a healthcare data warehouse environment.
- 3+ years of experience with SQL testing, including analytic functions.
- Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Cognos, Business Objects, MS Analysis Services, Hyperion, or Oracle.
- Knowledge of Federal and State healthcare programs (Medicaid, CHIP) and claims data processing.
- Experience across SDLC phases, including requirements analysis, system design, testing, and maintenance.
- Expertise in system and regression testing, including test case creation and execution.
- Strong data analysis skills, including data modeling and management tools (Excel, SQL, relational databases).
- 3+ years of experience using test management tools (DevSuite, Atlassian, Rational, HP, VersionOne, Rally).
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in IT, Computer Science, Mathematics, Analytics, or Business Technology.
- Understanding of relational & dimensional modeling.
- Familiarity with HIPAA privacy & security rules.
- Knowledge of Medicaid payment policy and MMIS data.
- Experience with Agile and waterfall development methodologies.
- Ability to collaborate with DBAs, ETL developers, BI architects, and PMO teams.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to business users.
- Familiarity with medical coding standards (ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT-4, NDC).
