- Develops, evaluates, and improves industrial manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
- Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Determines the parts, equipment, tools, and processes needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.
- Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
- Communicates manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes.
- Confers with vendors in order to determine specifications of products and arrange equipment, material purchase, and parts.
- Evaluates products based on specifications and quality standards.
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for hot forging and CNC machining of metal components.
- Design and implement tooling, fixtures, and process flow to increase productivity and reduce waste.
- Analyze and troubleshoot production issues, root causes, and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams (engineering, quality, maintenance, and production) to support continuous improvement activities.
- Monitor and maintain library of drawings including tooling drawings, machine drawings, and process drawings and instructions detailing the manufacturing process.
- Support the introduction of new products from prototype through full-scale production.
- Specify and procure manufacturing equipment, tooling, and equipment layouts.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Associate's Degree in Engineering or other Engineering related degree
- 5-7 years' experience
- OR Equivalent Combination of Relevent Education & Experience
- Proficient in CAD Software, Autocad experience is required, Solidwork is desirable.
- Experience with hot forgin and CNC machining
- Knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, and dimensional inspection techniques.
- Experience with forge tooling design and CNC machining work holding is desirable.

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other Engineering related degree
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
- Less than 25% travel likely.
