Our specially trained nursing staff helps welcome more than 3,000 new babies into the world every year. We believe that by continually assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care based on evidence-based practice, sound clinical judgment and critical thinking skills, our caregivers provide safe, quality, expert and compassionate care. In addition to our highly qualified nurses, maternal-fetal medicine specialists and anesthesiologists are also available 24/7 in our unit.A caregiver in this position works varying shifts.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, such as checking vital signs and weight, assisting patients with personal care, performing patient transfers/transport, cleaning dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheter.Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to RN (Registered Nurse).Assist with keeping patients' rooms clean & orderly.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Nursing student in good standing in an accredited Nursing School program OR unlicensed graduate of an accredited Nursing School programBasic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red CrossMaintain competencies specific to patient population servedSatisfactorily complete hospital orientationPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Strong interest in working in a Mother/Baby unitOur caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
