- Builds analytic and design skills.
- Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
- Performs work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision.
- Candidate must have completed Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or have demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Transportation-related internship/work experience.
- Proficiency in CADD and industry-standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation/OpenRoads).
- Engineer-in-Training certification or ability to obtain within one year.
- Experience with business development and client relations.
- Experience with oversight of junior staff.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Understanding of GIS software and coding languages.
- Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Experience designing transit (ideally BRT infrastructure) and/or transportation infrastructure.
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
- This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in Columbus, Ohio. The selected candidate must be available to work in Columbus, Ohio on a scheduled basis.
