
Engineering Manager - Electrical and Software

- Lead and manage a team of electrical engineers, software engineers, and other personnel as assigned, through all phases of product development, from concept to implementation.
- Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring alignment with technical requirements, budgets, and schedules, and compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer requirements, and related specifications.
- Provide technical leadership in both hardware and software domains, including architecture decisions, design reviews, and code/hardware quality assurance.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality, Service, and Sales to support existing products and deliver new products.
- Develop and implement engineering best practices, tools, and methodologies to improve team efficiency and product quality.
- Mentor and develop team members, conducting regular performance reviews and fostering a culture of learning, personal development, and innovation.
- Evaluate and review design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
- Examine and Approve Instruction manuals, Service bulletins, Alterations to drawings and technical information, Sales application and other engineering requests as required, first article samples of purchased products as required.
- Identify customer needs and opportunities, collaborating with the Sales and Marketing teams, building consensus on product direction and roadmap.

- Develop a strategic view of external technology developments and create product and process direction for the Electrical & Software Engineering team.
- Act as subject matter expert on technical matters in legal topics.
- Other essential duties and responsibilities may be assigned as required.
- This position is also responsible for following ISO procedures, initiating action to prevent problems, documenting quality problems, contributing to problem solutions, verifying implementation of solutions, controlling further processing when a problem is identified, protecting the environment, including preventing pollution, and analyzing or identifying areas for correction or improvement
- Must have a bachelor's degree in Electronics related field.
- 5+ years of successful experience related to electronics, software/firmware, and mechanical elements.
- 3+ years of successful supervisory / managerial experience or equivalent successful combination of education and experience.
- Ability to analyze existing rapid iteration and development lifecycle processes/procedures to identify possible product refinements and enhancements.
- Experience with BOM management (Engineering, Planning, Manufacturing and Service) and product variant management.
- Experience with the design of electronic hardware, software and firmware development, and electronic manufacturing and procurement processes.
- Gated Product Development processes, Critical Chain, and other similar project management processes.
- Familiarity with all phases of new product development from initial concepting, validation, production, and ongoing maintenance.
- Must be able to travel as required and/or directed.
- Advanced degree in Engineering/ MBA and/or proven team building skills and capabilities
- Experience in electronic PCB design, software development, IoT, machine language, etc.
- Experience integrating electronics/software with mechanical elements.
- 3-d CAD systems familiarity Creating 3-d models and assemblies; large assembly management, working knowledge of mobile equipment, cranes, winches, hoists, and geared machinery.
