- Scheduled and Preventative Maintenance: Execute scheduled and preventative maintenance to keep all Town of Vail facilities running efficiently.
- Problem Solving: Analyze and resolve work problems, either independently or by assisting teammates, ensuring that all issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
- System Maintenance: Install, repair, and maintain critical systems such as heating, cooling, plumbing, snowmelt, fire, and security systems, which are essential to our operations.
- Building Component Repairs: Maintain and repair all building components, including fountains and other important features, ensuring they remain in optimal condition.
- Electrical and Plumbing Work: Perform essential electrical and plumbing repairs, including replacing fixtures, wiring, mending pipes, and installing water heaters.
- Carpentry and Construction: Take on carpentry tasks, constructing and repairing items such as counters, cabinets, doors, and building frameworks.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure that all maintenance work adheres to Town of Vail safety and health policies, minimizing risks and promoting a safe working environment.
- Experience: We’re looking for candidates with 3-5 years of building maintenance work experience. Your background in maintenance will be crucial as you take on the diverse responsibilities of this role.
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, ensuring you have the foundational knowledge to succeed in this role.
- Driver’s License: A valid Colorado driver’s license with a clean driving record is essential, as you’ll need to navigate between our facilities and complete tasks efficiently.
- Physical Fitness: This role requires the ability to perform tasks that involve stooping, bending, heavy lifting, and physical exertion. A full range of body motion is necessary to handle the hands-on nature of this job.
- Flexible Scheduling: You must be willing to work shifts that may include nights and weekends, and be available to work on holidays and for overtime when needed. Flexibility is key in ensuring our facilities are maintained to the highest standards at all times.
