- Under the guidance of a Nuclear Medicine Physician, the Nuclear Medicine/P.E.T Technologist accomplishes one or a combination of several general radiographic procedures
- Performs at a technical level requiring a high degree of independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply isotopes for radiographic diagnosis
- Performs test in-patients and out-patients
- Utilizes a variety of Nuclear Medicine cameras and varied equipment
- Administers pharmaceuticals and radiopharmaceuticals as outlined in Nuclear Medicine Scope of Practice
- Demonstrates industry in radiation safety
- Check patient charts for needed exam and tests.
- Prepare patients for exams – administers pre-medication, radioactive isotopes and transfers patient to examining table.
- Scan the patient – making proper settings on the gamma camera.
- CPR required
- State Registered Radiologic Technician
- Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB), or Registered Radiographer (ARRT)
- 1 year of experience preferred, but not required
- Must be able to successfully complete established competencies for the position within designated probationary period
