We want your knowledge and expertise!Job Summary and QualificationsOur Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs a variety of duties in preparing patients for scans of particular organs to furnish diagnostic information and measures concentration of radioactive isotopes in specified body areas.   • Under the guidance of a Nuclear Medicine Physician, the Nuclear Medicine/P.E.T Technologist accomplishes one or a combination of several general radiographic procedures
  • Performs at a technical level requiring a high degree of independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply isotopes for radiographic diagnosis
  • Performs test in-patients and out-patients
  • Utilizes a variety of Nuclear Medicine cameras and varied equipment
  • Administers pharmaceuticals and radiopharmaceuticals as outlined in Nuclear Medicine Scope of Practice
  • Demonstrates industry in radiation safety
  • Check patient charts for needed exam and tests.
  • Prepare patients for exams – administers pre-medication, radioactive isotopes and transfers patient to examining table.
  • Scan the patient – making proper settings on the gamma camera.
What Qualifications You Will Need:
  • CPR required
  • State Registered Radiologic Technician
  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB), or Registered Radiographer (ARRT)
  • 1 year of experience preferred, but not required
  • Must be able to successfully complete established competencies for the position within designated probationary period
