Join a team supporting a federal oversight office responsible for independent assessments, investigations, and enforcement actions in nuclear safety, cybersecurity, emergency preparedness, and worker safety.As Program Manager, you’ll work closely with subject matter experts in nuclear safety, cybersecurity, emergency management, and counterterrorism to coordinate site assessments, performance evaluations, and program enforcement efforts. You’ll serve as the primary point of contact for senior DOE leadership, representing the full support team and ensuring seamless coordination across contract activities. With broad responsibility for execution, from staff deployment and logistics to reporting and quality assurance, this role offers both autonomy and accountability in a highly visible environment. It’s a meaningful opportunity for someone who thrives in complex, fast-paced settings and wants to contribute to a mission that prioritizes safety, transparency, and public trust.Key Responsibilities:Serve as the primary point of contact for federal stakeholders, maintaining regular communication and ensuring alignment with government objectivesLead day-to-day operations for a large-scale federal contract supporting independent oversight, enforcement, and training functionsManage multidisciplinary teams across technical areas, including nuclear safety, cybersecurity, emergency preparedness, worker safety and health, and safeguards and securityCoordinate planning and execution of field assessments, technical reviews, and enforcement support activitiesOversee compliance with classified and unclassified information protocols, including secure handling of sensitive materialsTrack program performance using data systems and metrics, ensuring timely, high-quality, and contract-compliant deliverablesFacilitate internal quality assurance processes and implement risk mitigation strategies across all task areasManage subcontractor performance, staffing coordination, and cost controls to support overall contract efficiencyLead recurring coordination and status meetings with senior government officials and agency teamsProvide leadership in navigating complex technical subject matter and high-stakes operational environmentsPromote collaboration across project functions and ensure consistent alignment with DOE mission priorities and expectationsRequired Skills & Experience:This position requires a strong background in technical program management and contract oversight.Minimum Experience:Total Experience: At least 15 years of relevant commercial or government experience.Safety/Security Experience: Minimum of 10 years in safety or security fields.Management Experience: At least 10 years of direct management experience.Project Management Experience: Proven experience leading large, complex projects similar in scope, scale, and technical depth. Must have managed cross-functional teams spanning technical, administrative, and analytical roles, and worked directly with senior government officials and stakeholders.Minimum Education:Bachelor’s degree in engineering, public or business administration, security management, or a related discipline.A Master’s degree may substitute for 5 years of relevant experience.Security RequirementsMust meet one of the following clearance requirements:Hold a current DOE Q, Top Secret, or equivalent clearanceHave held a clearance terminated without prejudice within the past six monthsHave an active SSBI-based clearance from another agency within the last five yearsHave favorably adjudicated SSBI results within the last 10 years, with a reinvestigation in the last five yearsAll personnel may be subject to random CI-scope polygraph examinationWork Authorization: U.S. Citizenship required due to federal contract requirements.Working Conditions: This position is primarily performed in an office environment or a home office setting.
