Job Description:Our customer is a leading small business MEP/FP and architecture consulting firm specializing in government, institutional, and higher education clients. We solve complex engineering and architectural challenges with exceptional efficiency and skill.RoleAs a senior engineer, you’ll not only lead technically, but also serve as a project manager and client liaison, playing a key role in maintaining our 95% client referral rate. This position reports to the Vice President, overseeing electrical staff in the Raleigh Office.You will investigate, analyze, and craft solutions that truly address their needs. You won’t just draw it, you’ll own it, from concept to construction.Most of our projects involve renovations, often with a focus on MEP/FP, offering a steady stream of engaging and unique design challenges. We’re regularly tackling real-world constraints like fitting new equipment into tight existing spaces or ensuring buildability within operational facilities. Qualifications
  • Lead electrical system design for new and renovated buildings
  • Act as assistant project manager, overseeing schedules, budgets, and deliverables
  • Conduct field investigations, surveys, and code analysis
  • Mentor junior staff and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Communicate directly with clients and help grow relationships
  • Support the mission to deliver technically excellent, practical solutions
Job RequirementsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 10–20 years of experience in lighting, lighting controls, and interior/exterior power distribution
  • PE license required
  • Experience with MV (medium-voltage) distribution preferred
  • Experience working in the federal sector, including familiarity with UFC, UFGS, and FAR
  • RCDD certification is a plus
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit, AGI32, and SKM or Easypower
  • Experience conducting fieldwork, including the physical demands of site visits
  • Existing client relationships in NC/SC, Mid-Atlantic, or South-Central U.S. is a strong plus
  • Experience with higher education and NC State Construction Office systems
